Hi,
I currently have a 2014 Ford Taurus and have a Blinder 905 triple head system installed on the front. Living in Houston, TX I have come to learn that my Blinder system is worthless against the present Dragon Eye guns that the local PD have here. Therefore, I would like to purchase the ALP system and swap them out. I have a couple questions though and would appreciate any help or suggestions you all could provide.
1) I was under the understanding that the blinder heads needed to be the furthest thing sticking out on the front of the vehicle in order to create the "barrier wall" of protection. ie. If the license plate face was further out with the blinder heads mounted behind the plane of the plate, then the license plate would not be protected because the "barrier wall" of protection would be behind the license plate plane of view, not in front. (Hope that makes sense). Is this the same for the ALP system? Do the heads need to be the furthest thing sticking out?
2) Below, I have an image posted of the front of my vehicle. I currently have a triple head system installed on the three locations identified by the "red lines". The two in the upper grill were placed to protect the headlights and top grill and the lower red line under the plate was designed to protect the license plate because of the requirement I just described in question 1. (The license plate sticks out further forward than the top two heads). I have been reading that the ALP heads are much stronger and more reliable, so would two heads be suffice to protect the front of my vehicle? Or would the question above still apply, and I would still need 3 ALP heads for full protection on the front?
3) (Disregard this question if you think I still need 3 ALP heads) I have been recommended by a few people that two ALP heads would be suffice, however if that is so, would the "green lines" in the image be an OK location to place the dual system, even with the license plate mounted below sticking out further than the top grill?
I posted the second image so that you can see how the front bumper comes further out at the bottom compared to the top grill and headlight area.
Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!!
