Thanks Holla. I know... I know... I need to take a valium and just wait for it. lol

I hear ya. That is a big portion of the fun for me is the install and learning all about it. But like I said I drive myself nuts because I think I am like part OCD. My wife does the same . She comes to the garage door and is like, "are you ever going to come in the house" lol
Just found out I am getting it Friday, so you guys get to deal with me all week and my anxiousness. :)
got.alp I stalled and followed instructions. everything went very smoothly.
the only thing is the driver side sensor is picking up no motion. I cN put my hand over it Nd nothing. passenger side does alert when I wLk in front of it. I am concerned that my drivers side sensor is dead or something.
Any ideas?
swop em over, at the cpu end, then check, also have you done the default setting so the heads are registered in the memory
Yes I did default set and when I do my stat file it even shows front sensor 1 and 2. So I am stomped.
think I should just do whole process again?
Not sure when I will get to so it now I got nasty virus with fever. Hit me last night while doing install. Bummer.....
Stomach virus seems to be everywhere :(
Do me a favor and create a basic default settings setup file... Just set your LID and save the file.
If that does not work do a Manual Sensor check (Page 12 in your manual) to confirm the connections were made correctly.
Well I finally went out and tried switching the sensor ports it did the same thing, beeping from one side, but not from the other. I have checked all connections made sure they are plugged in and locked, and did everything. I don't get it.
I did what you said BRD also and did the default setup. The ALP doesn't even appear to be updating settings now. Something is strange. Not sure what else to do next.
Is it the same head, or the same port on the CPU that is having the issue?
It is the same head, because I switched the two ports and the same head remained silent.
I did the manual check, and I heard two beeps but the green light didn't blink twice.
I also reset to default several time to try and get CPU to recognize the head.
I must have a bad sensor . :(
Check the din connection.
So after swapping "Ports" the same Sensor (Driver side) is still silent...correct ?
Now,you need to check the DIN connector for the Driver Sensor to see if there is a problem w/ it.Unplug the Male & Female connector from each other & carefully look at the pins on the "Male" connector (the Female conn. is on the Sensor wire side).
Are the Pins ALL straight & ok ???
Be careful plugging them back together...there's a small "detent" to align them BEFORE pushing them together !!!
This is important so you don't bend/damage the Pins.
I also noticed that even the driver side sensor seems weak. I have to get right up to it before it will beep. I had the sensitivity set to high too.
Had it on 8 the highest.
Going out now to look. I just get on couch a while until and the. Go out I am back and forth. Lol. This virus is rough. I hate to keep complaining but this could not have came at a worse time when I am trying to get alp going and easter coming up.
pic not too clear but it looked good ...
Way out of focus but if pins look good & are straight at least it's not a bent individual pin.
What we don't know is:
1.Sensor itself or internal wire inside the cable connecting to the Female DIN connector.
2.The Male DIN connector inside & individual wires going back to the Control Box (CPU).
There is 1 more test that can determine which it is.If you're sick we can do it when you feel better or now...LMK.
If your wire length permits I want you to swap the 2 CPU cables AT THE DIN connectors. In other words, -
1. Take the Driver side MALE DIN & plug it into the Pass. Sensor.
2. Take the Pass. side MALE DIN & plug it into the Driver Sensor.
Tell me which side in not working now.
Yes thats what I was thinking about doing next. I hope its the cable I would hate to have to change the sensor but we will do what we gotta do.
I will let you know what happens.
I am very happy it is just cable and not the sensor. Outwise I would have had to rip sensor out, relevel new one etc.

Thank you!...
I tried going out and cleaning pin sensors to the other side as well with no luck. That is very strange. Everything on the cable appears to be perfect. I love these cables too nice and thick and quality looking rather than just a telephone cord.

Glad we found the prob tho. Leave it to me to get something bad. I am probably your first problem with anything. Lol
I notice this unit seems more high quality than any other .
After firmware has been loaded I am assuming that it doesnt really "reload" the same firmware. The reason I ask is because I went ahead last night and redid all of the files and process and it did not appear to load firmware like it did the first time I think it loaded the setup file though

Might be pinned wrong on the modular connector end. If you have a crimping tool you can cut the end off and put a new one on. I will replace it either way but if you are anxious you can give it a shot if you have a crimping kit.

It will check the firmware and determine if an upgrade is needed. Since you had it installed already it wasn't necessary.
Ok thanks for all the help! I dont have crimping kit and I would probably just mess things up. Not sure which wires go in what order anyway. I will probably just wait for new cable. By then maybe I will feel like working on it anyway.
