They should be able to install the ALP's, just take the unit to them

Correct... Many dont sell the ALP because it does not have the high Margins the K40 & Escort unit has. If you pay labor they will install anything.
You could also try... www.technicar.com not sure how far they are from you.

How is the install?

Install looks good- they did a mirror install and I know it was alot more work than they anticipated! I had to have them temporarily attach the control module to set it up- going to take it back in so they can swap out the bluetooth module now that it is setup.

Post some photo's.. You can also spend $4 on one of the switch boxes if you want to be able to switch back and forth with the BT & Control module. Its not pretty but it does work.... http://radarandlaserforum.com/showthread.php/3335-Temp-Fix-for-using-both-the-Bluetooth-Module-amp-Control-Module?highlight=temp

Ok I'm still working on getting install complete- I did a mirror install with the STiR lower left and was supposed to be the ALP LED in upper left. They initially installed the STiR in both spots! Replaced the LED's but the ALP LED is blinking yellow constantly and goes out completely when getting shot by laser. Did a factory reset but still same behavior. Is that normal for the LED?

Maybe we could setup a page here that has all the known installers across the US and people could rate them. Just a thought.

Bud, I also live in Tampa (about to move to CA for work) and would like to know how much the install cost you and would you recommend A&B for my install? I have a Inifinite G37S Coupe and I bought the quad sensor with BT and Hi-Fi speaker combo. I am an avionics guy by trade but I am not wanting to go at this install alone since I have only about a week to get this project completed.

They did a nice job. I installed a full StiR plus and then Quad ALP. I am wishing Atm I had just done the integrated StiR with the ALP. The ALP is so easy to upgrade! The STiR sucks. It has locked up twice trying to upgrade and I now have to take it back to A & B to have them take it apart to figure out why it won't even turn on now  I did a mirror install of both the LED for the ALP and the LED screen of the STiR. When it was working was very nice. I think they charged around 1200 bucks. I'll post some pics when I hopefully get the STiR running again.

Well I decided to take the car into Divine Audio on Dale Mabry. I will be dropping it off tomorrow morning and they will install the ALP front and rear sensors. They quoted me a price of $300 so I will follow this post up with another once its all installed. I have a long trip coming up and I cant wait to sniff out the LIDAR on the way there :)

$300 is pretty cheap for a professional install. Definitely let us know how the install goes.

Anyone know if the extension cables for the sensors can be found in a local store? or are they unique to ALP? I am scared I may need extensions tomorrow and I dont have any.

They have special moisture proof connectors. You will not fine them in any local store and will need to order extensions or move the CPU more central if you do not have enough cable.

I had my install done but I need to reposition the heads on the front. The rear heads are limited to the outer edge of the license plate since thats the only spot I can place them. What should the spacing be for the front sensors? I know this can vary depending on the car but as a general guideline? I have an INfinity G37s Coupe 2008. I am placing it centered (top to bottom) of the grill. I had them to the outer edge of the grill as far as they would go. The spacing between the two sensors was 22-24" (bubble to bubble). Both bubbles of course were facing the outer edges of each side. The overall install was fine, but they were not very careful to clean the surfaces of the mounting locations before attaching them with the tape. I will post pictures once everything is complete.

I posted some pics here http://radarandlaserforum.com/showthread.php/3668-2008-Infiniti-G37s/page2. I just installed them after taking those photos and the placement is very close to how they are shown in the pics. Once I get everything reassembled I will post some "final" pics :)
