Has anyone noticed that some vehicles give off a lot of false K-Band? I've found that the Acura MDX is pretty much the worst. Almost every time I get a false reading there is one driving near me on the highway.

Acuras in general are the worst. I pick them off about a kilometer away with the STI Magnum. (ok maybe 500m), but it's bloody annoying. Want to ram those POS cars off the road![]()
Totally. I wish we couldn't determine the exact K Band frequency these Acuras are using and filter them out
This is not a easy task I wish it was available.
Take the Stinger VIP a expensive radar system uses a setting called Dynamic sensitivity. This setting slows a alert by 2 to 5 seconds while the detector pauses and determines is this a garage door or a cars BSM ( Blind spot monitoring systems).
In my area the Holden Ve uses between 24.165 to 24.180, the speed cameras use frequencies are 24.143 and 24.116 and 34.7 and 35.? and 24.150 and 24.130.
The smartest thing radar detector companies should do is look at having K band segmentation and also in K band have special Gatso band and MRCD band etc etc so the user can fine tune there radar detector and switch off the parts of the K band not used in the area, and even fine tune it 1 more step by having pre tuned bands for special threats.
Now that would be 1 smart radar detector.
