New to ALP, advice on install Audi S4

Hi all, hoping you can help me decide on the following..

I have an Audi S4 that I would like to get front protection for. Starting out, I am thinking of getting ALP + Net Radar with Bluetooth module to allow control from phone (At the moment that's all I can afford, plan to add more later). I want the setup to be as stealth as can be while, still having good front protection and radar coverage. Any recommendations on the following and the install overall?

1. Will two heads provide for good front protection? I drive in MD/VA.
2. Placement of the heads and Net radar.
3. Advice on doing a self install i.e how/where to route wires and get through firewall.
4. Getting the Net radar because it's suppose to work well against blind spot systems and false alerts. Will it suffice? If not, what would you recommend for radar? Blind spot filtering and being able to lock out false alerts are important to me.
5. At the moment I have a Max 2, but I plan to replace it with this stealth setup.
6. Below is a pic of the car and the location I was thinking of placing the heads (red) and the Net radar (yellow). Radar would be behind the plastic grill.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Your placement locations look good. If using 2 heads, then 18" - 24" apart. With 3 heads no more than 24" apart, but with your grill that won't be an issue. I have a dual head ALP installed on an Infiniti G37 with the control box and bluetooth module located in the engine bay - no wires through the firewall. I've carefully enclosed the system in a plastic compartment sealed from moisture and heat and so far it works great even in 36C (90F) summer heat. The bluetooth connection is reliable and there's nothing visible inside my car except my phone.
Be very careful that your heads are level and square with each other (not toed in or out).

Thank you the advice. Any thoughts on the placement of the net radar? Do you think it would be OK behind that plastic grill?

Hi all, quick question. Is it OK to put the Net radar behind a plastic honeycomb grill? see bellow. It would be the one (yellow) in the center.

2. Placement of the heads and Net radar.
3. Advice on doing a self install i.e how/where to route wires and get through firewall.- I can't help you there, check w/ Dealership for access hole thru firewall.

Blind spot filtering and being able to lock out false alerts are important to me.Yes, NET RADAR has some of the best BSM/ACC filtering of any RD.

NET RADAR size = 2 1/2"W x 1 1/8"H.
If you perfectly center it immediately just behind one of those 'diamond' shape slots of the grill work it might be just fine, reception wise.

Priority Sensors size = 2 1/4"W x 1/2"H
Might have to do a little trimming to the grill slots. They must be perfectly level & point straight ahead. Cannot be any blocking of the entire front surface of the Sensor. It can't be recessed either, should be flush to the outer edge of grill work.

Ok, thank you. I will see what other ways I can work with this grill. You are correct, I think I will have to trim the grill to fit the Priority Sensors.

The reason you can't have a combination of plastic & air space in front of the NET RADAR is b/c they are 2 different mediums. When the radar wave hits plastic & open space of air it causes distortion in the radar signal & loss to the wavefront entering the aperture of the antenna Horn. End result means lower sensitivity to the Detector. All air or All plastic is best...but never both in any combination !

Most of my above PSL driving is on the Interstate highways, so I bias my RDs to the Driver side of the vehicle Front. Even if I'm in the Right lane behind cars or Trucks I can move left & let the RD peek around whatever is in front of me to sniff the air ahead. Putting the RD in the center of your grill tends to get shadowed or block the radar signal by whatever vehicle is ahead you. Radar cannot pass thru all that metal surface of other vehicle ahead.
If the RD was a windshield mount, I put it high on the glass near the headliner (to shade it from the heat of the Sun) shining on it. Radar signal can easily pass thru the window glass of the cars ahead, but will still be blocked if it's a Big Rig w/ a 12' high metal trailer in front of you.

Driver side bias for me b/c I'm usually in the Left Lane haulin' ass !
