Don't you just love Windows sometimes when you're upgrading to a new driver -"windows has determined that you are already using the best driver" etc.
No, I know best, I'm the Windows admin on this computer here with a masters degree in IT, and its my PC, and if it goes wrong, I'll use system restore
First thing I do on a new install, show all files extensions and hidden system files
As for Win 10, I've had a few problems upgrading two machines for Win 7, and one from Win 8, always fails after a while with some excuse about bad drivers etc, when you're running the latest, on older hardware (i.e Win 7) that MS should know well.
A few hours later of Googling about upgrading an Intel Compute Stick from Win 8.1 to 10, I found on a forum (not Intels) that I needed to upgrade the BIOS and disable write caching on the SSD to get the upgrade to work.
