Three Heads Up Front Vs. Two?

I see lots of recommendations to install a third head between two that do not exceed the recommended 24" maximum distance allowed.
If 24" is fine why a third?
What good is the center head when the LEO targets a headlight 20" away from an outside mounted head?

    Thanks

The third head recommendation is to meet the threat of the newer laser guns that require the gun to see two heads to be jammed. The newer guns also have a narrower field of view so two heads spaced farther apart won't work.

It really depends on the type of car you have. Two is usually enough. However if you have a large front like I do F150 then definitely do 3 heads. I have done quite a bit of testing and two heads work great on most vehicles.

In some states a front license plate is required and the LEO can use the plate as another way to get your speed.

The why is b/c of your location. The Lidars used in your area are at the Top of the Threat List. To neutralize this particular threat (& future threats) 3 are needed as a Team to cover the whole Frontal area of the Dodge.

Your idea of boring 3 Horiz. "cut-outs" (all spacings <24") into the grill bullseye is a great idea. Regarding the offset required to keep them pointed straight ahead...just make sure the "bubble" on the lens is flush to the Horiz. member. The other side of the Sensor face can be recessed slightly w/o any problems caused.
