Not sure whats going on I was planning on the dry lake bed but after looking at the other forum it looks like things have changed. Not sure what to do now?

The dry lake is under control of BLM, and they don't want to have to tow out cars stuck in mud, or have cars cause tracks on the flat dry lake. If it is dry by Sat morning it should be open.. right now hard to tell. Alternate sites are close by on paved roads.
