ALP with STIR Plus startup question

I have a 3 front ALP and a full STIR Plus system (not integrated). Sometimes, when I start the car and they both turn on at the same time, I get a laser warning from the STIr. My question: do the ALPS fire as part of the startup?

Yes, At startup the advanced self test checks all receivers and transmitters to make sure everything is working properly. If you have ALP'S you should turn laser off on the Sti-R Plus.

The ALPs also fire parking sensor pulses at a slow rate. Normally this doesn't affect RDs but it does often cause the STiR+ to give a laser alert on boot-up, as if the presence of pulses during boot accumulate and then they "count" as an alert.

When I had an LI and a STiR+ in my car, if the LI was set to parking mode for 30 seconds on boot up the STiR+ would give a laser alert on boot-up. Disabling laser on the Plus, and/or turning off parking sensor mode on the LI got rid of it. With the ALP there's no way to turn parking mode completely off so you'll have to turn laser off on the Plus, which is a good idea anyway since it's prone to falsing and you're set for laser with the ALP anyway.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had two road trips this week with this setup. I've forgotten how much more I can focus on driving by having a couple of extra eyes on duty.. I'm not fully set up yet, but getting there.
