    Problem with ALP

Just wondering what this means. I had ALP installed last week with Bluetooth module. It was working fine for 1 week and suddenly, today, I noticed that when connecting Bluetooth with iphone, it turned off the unit and did not come back on. After restarting the car, the ALP came back just fine but without Bluetooth. Now what I notice is that the unit is acting weird. I get the initial startup, goes into the "blue" defend mode, then shortly after that, give me two brief green beeps followed by four red beeps. It cycles through the green and red warning every few seconds. The unit is not working and not responding. Any ideas?

Not sure but check the manual
I think there was something there about 4 beeps meaning some type of fault

What is it an older CPU or out of date firmware? I'd check the Firmware on the ALP and make sure it's the most update. Also, does your system have a GPS module hooked to it?

Try disconnecting the BT Module and connect the controller directly to the CPU and see if everything works normally.

Than you for all the thoughts. Somehow, the unit decided to work again the next morning without doing anything different. The unit is a new purchase in Feb. 2016 and all the software is updated before the install. I don't have GPS. I believe the Bluetooth module was causing the trouble but somehow it's working again. I am a bit worried about trying out the Bluetooth link with my phone again.

The unit is installed by a local installer and is difficult to access for trouble shooting, such as disconnecting the Bluetooth unit and connecting controller directly to the module. I did try to get to it by removing a cover under the dash/steering wheel. I saw the unit tucked away far behind the firewall, tightly bound with zip ties and attached to something. It's well installed and would not cause any vibration noise while driving, but the down side is that it's extremely difficult to get to for service. I do have usb extension line for future updates readily available, tough.

Try connecting again with BT and if the connection works hit the update firmware button and see what happens.
