Just wondering if some of the sellers around Australian and New Zealand who sell the "Au/NZ tuned models" and claim them to have better detection range are actually telling the truth or is it all marketing hype. So if I go and buy my next detector, say the Escort redline from Amazon or Ebay-USA rather than a "AU/NZ" tuned redline.
By tuning does it mean the sellers in AU/NZ have just adjusted the settings (which anyone who can read a manual could do) or is it a firmware or even a hardware difference?
I understand the reasoning behind some of the GPS models. the 9500ix for example has different versions for the speedcam locations.
Just interested if anyone really knows.
Thanks,
