At 500ft the average width is around 18" so if aiming at your license plate and your detector is on the dash you would most likely never know because the detector cant even see it.
My Focus ST doesn't have a front plate. I believe my headlights are plastic. My other vehicles do have front plates on tho.

I drive 80+ regularly. I also drive about 25k a year in the area. It's why I'm so surprised. I know the area pretty well and tend to slow down at trap areas. I do see cops in the median, I slow down and tend to sit in the middle lane and only use the left lane to pass. I'm going to have to look at the ALP sooner than later!
