I have been involved in this hobby for over five years. Through this hobby, I have meet many great people that I now consider close friends. I have enjoyed my time in the hobby, here on RALF as well as time on other forums.
When I was in school, I looked forward to life in the real world as felt that I would have more free time. The reality is that I spend more time working each day and week then I did in school. Being married and having wonderful children that I enjoy spending my time with is a blessing. Here, I thought as my children grew older I would have more free time. As it turns out, the older they have gotten, they need my time even more. Gone are the days where they would nap for hours (I would go to the gym then), and gone are the days of early bed times. The weekends, I generally leave the house at 9AM with one or more of my kids and don't get home until dinner time on a short day. I wouldn't change my life or the decisions I have made. I am a fortunate man.
I find at this time that I do not have the time needed to devote to this hobby and be a leader and organizer for the community.
This is not goodbye, as I will occasionally stop by.
As I have always said, "Today's noob can become tomorrow's expert." I look to the newer members of the community to take the time to read, think and learn more about the hobby and technologies to become tomorrow's expert.
I would like to thank all the members of the community especially those who I have met in person, those who I have become friends with and those who have advanced the hobby and community. There are many members and leaders of the community that have come and gone. We must all acknowledge and remember that the good of the hobby and community is far more important than any member, leader or group.
Thank you,
YC
