    Difference Front/Rear sockets?

    Hy,

Is there any difference between front (F) and rear (R) sockets with respect to the function of the connected sensor unit?

Is it possible to use a single head on the R1 socket, however mounted on the front. Doing so it would be possible to distinct between radar and laser alarms by just watching the external LED (red (radar) or yellow (R1) light).

Laser signals are the same for front/rear, aren't they?

    Thanks for your help!

    Alex

How many total sensors do you have? Are you using the standard Controller or HiFi? Also where are you located?

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

I do not have one now. But I'm thinking of a single head with standard controller.

If you want full protection you will need a minimum of 2 heads on each side of the vehicle you want to protect. If you add 2 sensors to the R1 & R2 port they will function correctly but you will get Rear Alerts on your HiFi or BT but I guess that is what you want if you want the LED to light yellow for Laser Alerts.

If you get the HiFi Control Set, the alert sounds for radar and laser sound VERY different. I don't think you'd have trouble distinguishing them.
