I would go back to that 300-400ft position and you will probably find a harsh elevation change or deep bump or dip that would have knocked your transmit out of sight of the gun. The vehicles suspension also can play a role depending on how quick the suspension can adapt to put the heads back in line which is why we stress how important it is to keep the heads as level as possible to make up for any elevation changes. If you are off just a small 3-4 degree's once you hit a bump or large dip it will only make the percentage that you are off that much worse. For drastic road conditions we are working on a special smaller center head with an added vertical diode to give you more return coverage for people that are plagued with these types of road conditions.
