I agree with 911TurboS, my car is a CHP magnet and if I'm going to spend the time to install this system, might as well do three sensors up front. I'm still not sold on the rear sensors as I haven't heard any cases of people getting shot from the rear.

1) Question about getting ignition power. Do you have a good source on a Porsche 997 to take power from?

2) General operation of the system. I have spent some time in the configuration post but I'd like to clear up how I think the system works. I'll have the HiFi speaker for audible tones and the small receiver that has the 2 function buttons. Since I'll have the GPS antenna I can set it to where under 30 MPH the parking sensors are engaged (front or rear) which comes on as an audible tone. Then over 30mph the laser defense and radar systems are engaged. If my radar goes off an audible warning happens, if I were to get pulled over what's the easiest way to shut it off, because I don't want it making noise if the cop around my vehicle (does it automatically shut off radar detection under 30mph if I configure it?). To a similar point if the laser defense system blocks an officers shot, it gives me what 3 seconds to slow down before turning itself off right? Then if the cop were to chase me and shoot me, how would I kill the system? I know it can kill under 30mph if I set it up like that but what's an easy kill button?

Sorry if its' redundant, if so I can spend time reading the config posts.

Here is what my front setup will look like.
Power to the System:
When you have physical possession of the car, get the Owner's Manual out and locate the section on what your fuses serve. Find one that is switched on/off with the ignition. You should have a fuse panel on the left side of the driver footwell and the right side of the passenger footwell. Use an Add-a-Fuse for a switched fuse point in the 5 amp or less range. I tapped the power dimming rearview mirror fuse in the driver side fuse panel because it was easier to run power from the same side I had all the cables and CPU stuffed into.

Shutting it off:
Locate the control pad where you can reach easily and press the power button. Not a big deal really. A 1 second press turns the power off. You could always just turn the car off as well, which would kill power to the system. I have always turned my car off the couple times I have been pulled over in the past 20 years.

My control pad is located on the dash just right of my steering wheel. An easy reach to the power button without ever being seen.
