AL Priority and Radar Setup Recommendation

I just purchased a Porsche 911 GT3 and I've been a lurker on this site for a little while. I'd like to add a laser defense system (AL Priority) as well as radar that's all integrated into one system. Here is what I plan on buying...

    AL Priority 4 Sensors (2 front + 2 rear) $1250
AL RG Module + 9500ci $550 (mount in front bumper)
    Hi Fi Speaker $100
    AL Priority GPS $50
    TOTAL $1950

Do you agree with my setup and do you recommend purchasing through alpriorityusa.com?

    Thanks!

    Brian

ALP USA is the place to get it. I would spend $50 more and get the 9500ci antenna.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

Do you mind posting a set of links to your site for this information? I couldn't find the same products on your page that ALpriorityusa.com has. I used to be a Circuit City level 2 stereo installer back in the day and I plan on doing this install. Do you have a link to general instructions for a 997 Porsche, I think my only question will be routing wires through the firewall and getting ignition power from a good source (probably in the trunk). I live in the SF Bay Area in California and I assume laser is commonly used here, is that correct?

There are plenty of places up front to put the AL Priority sensors and the radar module. More than likely I'll put all three in the center mouth, with the laser blockers at the very outside edges.

For the rear if I put the two AL Priority sensors above the license, plate I should be well protected.

You might consider three sensors up front vs two. I have a 2014 991 TTS and just got done installing a three front/two rear sensor system. PM me if I can help you with anything specific. I am not sure how access thru the front and back to the cabin differs between the 991 and 997 models, but It was not too bad to get the wires run.

I have the same system as you posted, except I have a fifth sensor and the 9500CI antenna.

All the Sku's are not on the BRD website, BRD site is mostly for Radar Detectors and the ALP USA site is for everything ALP. Just use the ALPriorityUSA.com website and all parts are there.

Nice ride & deserving of the Install pkg you're considering getting for it. Don't miss the install pix's of members here who also have Teutonic sleds like your's.

Was there a sale on Porsches lately that I missed?

Good choices! I second the 5th head, it has the ability and why not use it to its full potential.

I sold my C6 Corvette recently and have always wanted a 997 GT3. Unfortunately the 997 GT3's have risen in value over the past few years but I luckily found a great deal. I live in San Francisco and there are cops all over the place where we typically go cruising and I need to man up and fully protect myself. Its not cheap going this route but its going to be a lot more expensive if I get busted for speeding.

After reading through some of the posts, getting hit with a laser in the rear is very uncommon. Additionally the 9500CI sensor is front mounted correct, so there isn't any side/rear protection.

I think it depends on your state but generally it seems like these guys don't take er in the rear much unless you're from OZ or Canada.

Yes 9500ci is forward facing. It will pick up rear but not very well. For rear detection only the V1 and Stinger ($5000 lol) have rear horns....UNLESS, you do a full StiR Plus/9500CI forward facing and on top of that integrate another rear head into the ALP for M3 horns front/rear.
