Was hit with laser and unit shut off

I was hit with laser the other day and my unit suddenly shut off and wouldn't turn back until I restarted the car. Once I restarted the car it turned on and went through the regular start up process, but then proceeded to show a solid red light and beep five times before shutting off. I checked the manual and it just says that the control box is defective and to contact customer support. Does anyone have an idea of what this issue is and what might have caused it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Stephen

Are you running a HiFi control set or the regular?

If you're running the HiFi, was it hot in the car at the time? Try putting the controller up to an A/C vent to cool it and see if it starts working again.

If it's heat related, BRD (or your dealer you got your ALP from) can replace the HiFi control set with an updated one that has higher heat-tolerant parts in it.
If I passed you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

I'm not running HiFi. Not sure if it's heat related since it continues to show this error message even days after this issue first occurred and the vehicle has been stored in a cool garage.

Decided to try turning on the system again for the first time in a few weeks and it seems to be working fine. Tried using the laser tester I received with my LI set up from my old car and it picked everything up and stayed on to jam. Finally plugged in my bluetooth unit as well and got that all set up and it seems to all be working.

I have no idea what could have happened. Maybe it did over heat that one time?
