I purchased a 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 and intend to take long drives either for vacation or to good race tracks. I would like to have some protection when cruising.

Wouldn't we all! The type of "protection" you will need depends entirely on where you will be cruising. For example, if you are cruising bars or cruising the pits to hook up with "pit bunnies" you will need a completely different kind of protection than if you are cruising the highway at speeds exceeding the PSL.
