Welcome to the forum. The V1 is a great radar detector. As long as you haven't seen a true x band threat, you can turn off reception of X band. You will find those instructions on Valentine's website. Additionally, you can turn on TSR which will reduce K band false alerts. I would also look into the Android app YaV1.
