    Hey from Denver, CO

Hello from Denver! I've been lurking for a little while and decided to register. I've been running with a Cobra XRS9845 in my 2004 Black Audi S4 but after a little over a year of what I thought to be great product, one day I turned on my car and the radar detector wouldn't get past the initialization at startup so I've been on the market for something new. I'm strongly looking into the Whistler CR90 as of right now.

Anyway, I've always been the type to do his own car stereo installs and subwoofer installs, as well as hardwiring my Garmin and Cobra. I thought it would be cool to see some of your installs and read some information on what's out there. Not to mention I always enjoy conversation with a fellow Audi driver.

See you guys around the forum!

Welcome to the forum, I (and most likely every one else here) would recommend the Redline for CO, unless you only drive in Denver, in which case the V1 with the YaV1 app would probably be a quieter ride.
I absolutely love that part of the country btw.

Welcome to the forum. Look at Escort products and the Valentine One.

Welcome aboard. And yeah, you need to step away from the Cobra or Whistler family detectors, they are not even in the same ballpark as the Beltronics, Escort or Valentine offerings.
    Go ahead, make my day.

Most of the cops and state patrol seem to be Ka radars however the one I encounter on C470 always uses a laser. Thanks for the tips, I'll look into them. The Cobra seemed to catch most of the things I passed but there were tons of false alerts. (I didn't mind them too much because it kept me mindful of my driving.)

I'm looking for the best thing for under $200 and I found that Whistler for $168 on Amazon and many people have given it good reviews. But I am open to any more suggestions and I'll look into those ones.

I replied to this thread a while ago and for some reason it never actually posted lol.

Anyway, I was wondering what you guys find to be the best under $200? And specifically, why not the CR90?

    Thanks!
