Ford dealer messing with my alp!!!

So just thought I would share with you guys my latest fiasco with my Ford Dealer messing up my ALP!!!

I took my car to Ford Dealership here in town to get some recalls corrected on it.

To be honest, I put it off for a long time because I was worried about them messing up

my setup on my precious Counter Measure Mobile. Well, guess what? My fears came true.

Evidently the guys were rough and all but sat on my sensor and when I came to pick up my car today

My driver side sensor was hanging by the cord. I felt the anger build up in me as I tried to press the

sensor back on there to get it to not dangle around while I got it home. The anger at these guys grew even

worse when I was driving along and my nice hifi lady procedes to tell me that I need to check my sensor or wire!!!

I was thinking what in the world could these guys have done to this sensor!

So of course freaking out I message BRD immediately. He calmed me down and told me just to check the cable.

I pull everything out tonight and check all cables and connections. All was good. I tested it with my Lidar and checked parking

sensors. It all checked good. Plus I only heard the error once. I reinstalled my sensors and got everything up and running.

So far no more errors. I am very relieved at this point that it wasn't any worse than it was. Messing with my countermeasures is

right up there with messing with my child or wife. LOL

Anyway I am just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else happens and that it is ok. If I get the error again I will probably have to send the cables and

sensors to BRD for repair. I CERTAINLY hope it doesn't come to that. I think the next time I take my car for work I am going to insist that I talk with the person

that will be doing the work and warn him that I have expensive equipment installed in this vehicle and that I want them to be cautious while working around it.

I am telling you he must have whacked it really good for it to come off.

Thank you guys for listening to my rant. And a GREAT BIG thank you to BRD for messaging me almost real time and talking with me through this traumatic experience. LOL

I don't take my car to the dealer but I guess for a recall your have no other choice.

But I explain to my repair shop that they need to be careful around my sensors. They understand and have respected it so far.

It's a small shop that I have used for a few years they have maybe four bays to work on cars they are a small family business.

My car had just rolled over the 120 k miles and needed new spark plugs. Dealer want $800, got other offers as low as $600. Could not believe, so much money to change $90 of parts. The cost was not only thing that trouble me. In order to change plugs you had to remove the windshield wipers, cowl throttle body assemble and intake manafold. To get my cable thru the firewall, I ran thru the cowl and then thru the channel were fresh air is routed into the car cabin. long story short. I ended spent a Saturday doing it myself, other then 2 hidden bolts that were almost impossible to remove, the rest was pretty easy to do.

They did Holla. They didn't care and just careless. Makes me wonder what kind of job they did on the recall repairs too.

I didn't mean to make it sound like ALP fault. If I could edit the title I would. Lol.

Pretty sure you can edit the title. Edit your original post and you should be able to edit the title. If you can't let me know what you want it to say and I'll edit it for you.

I hate other people driving my car. Whether it's someone from the mechanics to a parking attendant. I tell everyone now that there is audio and video recording in my car to avoid them being reckless or careless with it. Still, they can't can't fucking resist seeing what kind of power she has. It's not even a Porsche or anything else like that. I had to go into NYC on Monday and use a parking garage. When I watched the video I was sweating watching the attendants park my car in the clusterfuck they call parking spots. It's crazy what it really looks like in the parts you can't see in those garages.

Glad your alp seems to be fine. I would've bitched them out before leaving the dealership.

Maybe threaten to sue them in small claims for the cost of new sensors + installation? They've essentially damaged your property. I don't see how this is any different than if you got the car back with a cracked headlight or broken radio knob.

I know. I took a trip this morning and still no errors so I think it's ok. But I was def. going to call them about the damage otherwise.

It cost me a lot of time and effort to pull everything out and check it and reinstall my sensors. I should send them a bill for installation labor for reinstalling. Lol

Leave a cam running if you can when in for service, you wouldn't believe the things that happen to customers' vehicles when left for repair. Unfortunately, most "techs" are actually parts swappers, if you're lucky the shop will have one actual technician that can diagnose problems...but then the repair is handed off to the parts swapper. Repair shops can't afford a shop full of real technicians.

Anyway, keep an eye on your ride, they get raced, used for lunch runs, etc, etc.
