Well, we are REQUIRED to illuminate our license plates at night, and I know of no law preventing us from doing so by day. And neither is the wavelength of the light specified by statute AFAIK.

Vail or any kind of paint or cover is not legal in NY. I heard that in some state it was a crime . I don't remember what stat that was.

The light strips would work well with the ALP because they could be powered from the ALP and only illuminated during an alert preferably from Camera alerts. Just thinking out of the box for future additions but I would not want them to go off if shot with regular laser.
But what do you do about the automatic cameras that cops have on their cars nowadays, that don't measure speed but still take pictures of plates? If the IR LEDs are only protecting during an active alert, wouldn't they be able to find out where your car was at a specific date and time without actually reading your plate with their eyes?

I think what we need is a sort of captcha for license plates. I don't have a problem with LEOs reading my plate with their own eyes and entering the numbers and letters they see into a database. I do have a problem with an automated camera doing it.

AntiLaser is a laser defense company. I was thinking of this not as a camera protector... If you are concerned with cameras there are products like 'No Photo' or many plate covers and even maybe Veil G5. I was thinking for just an added layer or protection from difficult devices like the Poliscan. AL's sensitivity is really good and in every video Winterbrew has posted the ALP always went off with warning but if while its going off if it can also block your plate to prevent a photo its just that an extra level of protection and would not be obvious because its only going off during these real hits.

If Antilaser did make a competitive product against the NoPhoto, that sync'd with ALP system, I bet it would be very popular

Antilaser is better than some cheap IR strip

    Sorry Tom
Refer to winterbrew post ;-) on poliscan.

Thanks for starting this provocative thread.
Thinking out of the box like this is a huge part of making innovations come to life.
And in fact is my impression (hope) of business as usual at Anti LAser
I for one would certainly welcome development of a prototype for testing by ALP and subsequent testing by RALETC.

    After HiFi of course!!!

Screw this LOL stuff. If they don't find it humorous on their own, then let 'em take it seriously.

Do you think there would be interest in an AL Branded version that would go on during Poliscan and and other Laser Camera alerts?
Just thinking of ways that the ALP can be further improved. Thoughts?
I think that is a great idea. It's only a matter of time before poliscan and other stuff spread to more of the US.
