IR License Plate Strips

There are alot of cheap IR Light Strips available such as these:

Do you think there would be interest in an AL Branded version that would go on during Poliscan and and other Laser Camera alerts?
Just thinking of ways that the ALP can be further improved. Thoughts?

I think it would be a nice addition. Unless Veil G5 works and then it won't be needed.

These are just simple IR LED strips that you wire up, and they flood your plate with bright IR light which blocks cameras such as ALPR that read in IR light, or use an IR flash.

Won't be effective against photo radar/lidar etc that uses visible light flash, as they will also probably be using a UV-IR cut filter on the camera.

The NoPhoto has embedded electronics, which flash back (white flash) in response to the cam flash at the crucial moment to overexpose the image

Yes, why not. If they had the quality and effort like they do with the ALP's it should work awesome.




Does this have any validity?

I have been wondering about something that would incorporate into the headlights. Maybe a special light bulb that emits in 904nm along with the normal visible light, on all the time. A flood type not a tight beam.

Would this help to reduce range of lidar guns due to the loss of detectable reflections from the headlights when targeted? Kind of like flashing a light at another light, you can't really tell.

Exactly. And notice these things look to increase reflectivity (to overwhelm imaging). The OPPOSITE of what you really want, IMO.

That looks like it would hurt your LCS to police laser, not a good thing. I believe the same thing goes for the invisi-plate which creates a mirror effect in the IR as well.

Don't you think this is a better way to go?

I can't see results, I am not advanced on Roy's site, I actually rarely ever go there...sorry, haven't been a fan of his, anyway........

I think you're right about the plate covers but the lights I think might do more good than harm.

I do agree though that Veil is much easier if it works. I will give it a try when it comes out.
