    Hello from Southern MD

Hello everyone. Just joined the forum to learn more about the current technology so I can upgrade from my Passport X50. I'm in So MD so laser is rare, mainly K and Ka, at least from what I have encountered so far since moving down here 20 yrs ago. I was looking hard/contemplating a STIR+ setup but that was before I learn about ALP so now I'm not so sure. I think a ALP set up plus the STIR receiver will be my best bet but it looks like by the time you add the BT module and peripherals, it's quite expensive. Being an Android user as well and given the current state of the Android interface with the ALP set up, I might be better off with a full STIR+ set up instead... Decisions, decisions...

What all that I would need to integrate the ALP+STiR+ and have it fully interface with my Android phone? Any good package deal?

    Thanks!

Welcome. The experienced members will tell you that ALP with full STiR+ is the way to go. Bestradardetectors can get you a package deal I believe. Iirc, you have poliscan speed cameras in MD.

Welcome to the forum. Do you travel with the vehicle? I do not have very much laser in my local area either but travel out of state a few times a year. The ALP's have made traveling much more enjoyable, added security...and yes they have saved me.

We do travel but most of the time we travel in the family car with the "anti-hi speed-spousal-unit/nagigator" sitting next to me so a RD is redundant in this scenario. I do fly low in my DD thus the need to refresh/update my countermeasures lol.

Welcome to the forum. If you travel in Va, then you will want to insider the Escort Redline or Beltronics STiR+ for radar detection. As far as lidar protection is concerned the AL Priority is the only way to go.

    Welome to safe harbor.

My philosophy is : one function = one tool ...though it is very personnal.

My pick would be Redline + Alp quad.

I've considered that route as well but I wanted to move away from the w/s mounted RD thus the interest in the STIR+ set up. I don't think I can PM yet with my new status but I'm hoping to get a package deal from BestRadarDetectors for an ALP+STIR set up.
