    Why, Hello dere !

Yeah, so , like I used radar detectors all through the '80's and into the '90's until at last the speed limits were raised back to sane levels ... Had an Escort, discarded it couple decades ago.

Now, I'm finding insane levels of 'enforcement' in my area, aka Revenue Collection - haven't been hit yet but only a matter of time, especially since I just bought a Honda Vfr.

So, I've been researching RD's now for the past 2 months. Should've bought one by now. But very tedious, all the different models etc.

Lots of factors like how much your willing to spend, which kind of roads you drive on the most, tolerance to falses etc.

Welcome to the forum. Although no two radar detectors are equal, each driver is not equal either. The best radar detector for you may not be the best radar detector for someone else. Please tell us more about the area you drive in and the type of driver you are. There are many knowledgable and helpful members here that will be more than happy to help you choose the correct radar detector for you. Thank you for joining the forum.

Welcome, If you are close to Atlanta you could come down this weekend and and see how a quad alp on a bike does, plus a custom V1 install. Arrows on a bike plus ALPs is almost unfair
    Which VFR year and model?

Thanks for all the welcomes !

" Please tell us more about the area you drive in and the type of driver you are." - - - Live in NC, drive in Tenn and Va as well, usually just keeping up with traffic @ about 10 mph over the psl, usually. On the bikes, I take the two lane back roads mostly - map it out on googlemaps, then go out for a few hours. That's where I see the 'healthiest' speeds .

Thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind - about 8 hrs from Atlanta iirc. I have a bright yellow 2000 VFR that I got in a screaming deal - previous owner put less than 16000 mi on it. It's the reason I now feel the need for a RD, lol.
