I'm also liking the latest Beta.
I have Llama launching the apps so Waze remains on the foreground. ALPc connects automatically and stays in the background until an alert comes in, love it!

I'm looking forward to further updates, great to see ALP being so proactive.

Just got done with a good ~250 mile round-trip testing out the newest ALP.

I used an Asus Memo Pad 7 (ME176CX Variant) for this trip.

Most importantly, I had ZERO functionality issues throughout the trip. When I say functionality, I mean an issue with that App that could compromise functioning of the ALP system.
No dropped BT connections, no showing the car in defense mode when it isn't etc.

With that said I noted the following observations (keep in mind, some of these may be due to the nature of using it on a cheap tablet, rather than a higher quality device):

    1) At least on the tablet, the unit did not show that it was connected to my BT by icon. In the notifications in the top left, the little ALPConnect cross-hairs were there, and the system functioned as it's supposed to, however, my BT icon never went from gray (on but not connected) to white (on and connected to a device). Not a big deal, and likely has more-so to do with the cheap tablet. I really think it's the tablet, as it sometimes fails to see BT devices that are 100% available. So if this isn't happening with others, I'd say ignore this as an issue with a cheap tablet, rather than the App itself.

    2) It would be really nice when using another App on the top, when the notification of an alert comes in for radar, it would give the frequency (I think @Mirage noted this already).

    3) The biggest thing I would like (and I think this may be attributed to the cheap tablet again), is the notification should time out. In other words, when I am using say SuperNote (for MM listings of speedtraps), and a radar alert comes up it brings ALP to the front just as you would expect. I noticed, however, that once the alert ends, unless I make it a point to press mute/dismiss, the screen stays on the notification indefinitely (until I press a button). It would be nice if, say, 10 seconds after the alert finishes, the ALP retracts the notification with no input (if this is at all possible).

In other words right now when I get a K-band false the following happens:
ALP in background with SuperNote on-top. ALP alerts to K-band > Screen goes from SuperNote to ALP notification > Must mute or dismiss, if you do nothing, the old notification is stuck.
It would be nice if it went:
ALP alerts to radar > brings ALP notification up that it is radar > 10 seconds after alert stops, and if no input is detected on mute/dismiss screen, ALP notification screen hides > SuperNote shown again.

Note sure if its possible or if other have had the issue (again, it could be the cheap tablet I'm using), but that would be nice.

Overall, this App functioned properly without issue. I even had multiple BT signals in the car. This beta-App is more 'finalized' than Apps that have made it to the play store (and itunes for that matter). Seems like I got in beta-testing at the right time! Thanks again @BestRadarDetectors

I will be doing another 125-miles Tuesday or Wednesday, then again Saturday.

I appreciate the feedback and input. We are taking notes and AL is implementing everything we can to make the best product out there even better.

I think we are on our last Beta Now which seems polished and is just about ready for release. The final version no longer has the pop up notification box... There were just too many requests for this pop up notification window. Some wanted Radar Frequency Display, Others wanted Front or Rear Notification, Some wanted Radar Signal Strenght, etc. AntiLaser found a way to basically get rid of the notification window and bring the app forward directly so you will all have all the information you requested.

So for example you are in Waze and you get a Radar or Laser alert. The ALP Connect screen will immediately come forward and you will be able to get all the info you wanted. Once the alert is done you can hit the Android Back button to exit the app and go back to Waze and stay ready for your next hit. The same would happen even if your phones display is off and lets say you are listening to music or just doing nothing. Once hit the phone will wake up and go straight to the ALP Connect app.

Several features will need to be enabled for all this functionality:

    1. Back Button - Back Button works as disconnect (Set to Now so when you exit program it will continue to run in the background)
    2. Notify Options - Notify only or wake up and notify (Set to Notify & Wake up) so if you phone display is off and locked it will be able to wake up the display and unlock the phone to go directly to the ALP Connect app)
    3. Wake up Options - You can choose if you want only Laser alerts to wake up the phone or Laser & Radar if you are using the AL Radar Integration

Could this be the first ever real world ALP Android hit in the USA?

FYI. Appeared to work flawless. Notice the second shot via the V1.

Not sure if we are still updating this thread, however, I did put another 250ish miles on the newest Android Beta this past week.

The new one worked without issue. I think the new bringing the APP forward is a good idea, relative to all the issues and things people (myself included) wanted to see done with the notification.

One thing I did notice is that at one point the tablet disconnected and then 'reconnected' to the ALP with a white-car, then presented me with "Error 5" as the car remained white. After some trouble-shooting, I found the connection jack on the BT unit itself was loose. After pushing it in, no more issues. The important thing is, however, that the APP conveyed there was an error and that I was no longer protected, so I could fix the issue.

I am testing the latest Beta (Probably the Final) but unfortunately the last Beta requires you to have newer firmware so it will no longer work with the firmware all of you have. So I am actually Beta testing the next firmware release and the Android App. Keep using the latest version you have and once the final is released you will need to also update the firmware also. I do not have an ETA for the next firmware release but everything will be out before the end of the year. Next Firmware Update, Android App & HiFi Module.

Not sure if this is a bug but I let my Galaxy S3 auto connect without opening the app manually. While in traffic started to get a parking sensor alert. Had to wake the phone, call up the app then silence it. Had I got a lidar hit, I would have had to go to my kill switch instead of using the app. I would have never been able to wake the phone, open the app & JTK. It would have been a JTG on accident.

I think that only happens on the parking sensor alerts. Parking sensors are for road side discos anyway turn them off until you need them IMHO. I have a spare USB that makes my ALP the best parking sensor around with the flip of a switch!

Correct.. The phone wiill only wake up and bring ALP forward for Radar & Laser Threats. You can even choose Laser only or Radar & Laser on the wake up and bring forward settings.
