Interesting article re NSW HWP and laser

    http://www.news.com.au/technology/de...-1227076729084

    From this article:-

    * Handheld laser units can pinpoint individual cars in traffic, zooming in on an area the size of a numberplate. The latest laser unit also records vision for evidence in court to prove the police stopped the right car

    Obviously not ProLaser 4.........

Haha its so they can out run all those super charged ss commordores etc.
But yes one hand they push speed kills and then on the other hand they make a beast that most likely does 0 to 100kph in 3 Seconds.
They most likely spent $150k plus on that car plus the $70k on the rest of the fleet.

Why don't they look at getting Golf R?
Queensland police have started to replace their fleet of Lancer Raliarts / evos and golf gti with them.
0 to 100kph in 4.9 Seconds is more then enough and is cheaper to buy and fuel then those v8 beasts.

Geeez even the aurions are fast enough for the task.

What happened to backing off on high speed chases and letting polair do its task of following in the distance until they ditch the car or "go home" and then pounce?

Would save many more lives as we all know what happens when people run from the police and they get excited...

I'll have to find the audio recording of qps last time they had a chase, the officers were clearly getting off on the rush of the chase...
VKR had to tell them to settle down numarous times.
