A 23-year-old woman from Port Melbourne has been clocked travelling 89 km/h over the speed limit.
Just before 6am, this morning, police we conducting laser duties on the Augusta Highway, Bungama (between Port Pirie and Crystal Brook) when they caught driver travelling at 189 km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The woman lost her licence on the spot for six months and was issued with an expiation notice totalling $1012.00. She also lost nine demerit points.
Police would like to remind the public, speeding is one of the major contributing factors in fatal and serious crashes on our roads. Don't be selfish by putting your life or others at risk by speeding!
I must say, even with CMs, I would not be doing those kinds of speeds, especially on that road. (its very uneven, narrow, outback road).
This is one of those rare cases of actually being happy to see speed enforcement targeting those who are a danger, rather then picking on the 0-20kph+ drivers on a freeway.
I do like the photo of the older Ultralyte haha .
