Okay, in parking sensor mode only, the ALP emits a pulse of about 60-80 flashes per second. Putting a red tail light in front of it does little (if anything) to interfere with the light visible to NVGs - though the range on them is visible to a little over 900nm.
I was unable to see anything that I would guess is protection mode from the sensor on startup/self test. The parking sensor mode seems to be a fairly mild (low intensity) pulse.
Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to see the response to a LIDAR source.

An XBOX ONE kinect will disrupt the hell out the ALP but won't cause it fire, but will leave you wondering why it won't go into defence mode.
Dont benchmark your ALP in the same room as your XBOX, you will think the CPU is dead.

I picked up my PL2 today, and messed around with the heads. I was unable to see any difference between the exposed head and the head behind the tail light. No telling what the LIDAR unit sees as a return, but through NVGs, it seemed equal. I'm going to try that as my rear install.
