    Great Palce to hangout!

Hi all. Great place to spend some time learning. Just installed two smartradar android ver. I have a '06 750li. The detector itself is completely hidden in my headliner right above the mirror. BMW 7 s have a metallic film over the windshield so the detector must be right up by the mirror or on the dash in the v to the right of the cluster to get good radar and laser reception. I impressed on how far out it picks up K and KA. It seems my location has not hurt it one bit. I even got two Lidar hits in that location. I was surprised as the unit has very little exposure above the headliner to pickup a laser hit. My second is in my '09 silverado. Mounted direct behind the mirror. reception is incredible. In both instances I de-soldered the short cable inside the display unit and soldered in an extended cable to relocated the remote display on the dash. I am considering picking up a 3rd unit for our van as well. I am two for two. Considering the QC issues some of these units have had I am fortunate.
