Reasons to upgrade to the ALP if you don't see VPR guns

So I just ordered a set of ALP quads to replace my otherwise perfectly good HP-905 quads and part of me is second guessing myself now since I don't have any VPR guns in my area. It's basically just PL3's and TSS's here, both of which my current setup handles like a champ. One of the main reasons I upgraded, in addition to simply future-proofing against VPR guns, is that since the lease on my car is about to expire and I'm gonna get another vehicle, it makes more sense to install a newer and more capable setup, especially if it potentially involves drilling some permanent in the grill and so forth. It makes more sense for me to upgrade since I'm gonna be pulling the old system out anyways and hopefully someone'll pay me a lot on eBay for my old setup to help make up for the $$ difference.

So my question for you guys are what are some of the main reasons you see for upgrading if you already have a capable system in your current vehicle (905's, LI's, etc.) but you don't have any guns in your area (yet?) that are an issue for your current setup? What are some of the main benefits for you specifically?

Some of the things you may not necessarily need, like STi-R integration or the ability to put it into parking sensor mode only for banned areas, so while that stuff may be useful for others and I love seeing the integration and innovation that AL is doing in the first place (thank goodness), I'm curious about the things that really make a difference for you and your own personal wants and situation.

For example, the ability to log which guns you were shot with is great for quick JTK's or when it's hard to tell from the dashcam audio. I really like that feature. I also like that the increased sensitivity means greater resistance to heads eventually getting misaligned over time (a current issue I have with my custom fabbed mounts) and that I can continue road tripping while knowing that I've got support for other harder to jam guns used elsewhere around the country.

What are some reasons that you already have or would like to upgrade from your existing system?

here in OZ all the states use different equipment, so even though things aren't in ur area one never knows what pops up, so i guess just being ready what ever comes along

Superior ALP sensitivity over my quad LI vs rear facing Poliscan was my main driver, as a had I few 'failure to detects' on rear facers even running the LI at maximum sensitivity, and the LI would only alert about 50 - 60m past the rear facing Poliscan, when it's already nabbed you after about 30 -40m past.

ALP superior sensitivity can pickup the very narrow beam when shot in the rear from only 10m away (LI needs many distributed rear sensors to guarantee detection)

Secondly, the DragonEye Compact is already approved for use in Victoria, so who knows when it will spread to other States

Do you guys need to angle your ALP heads for the Poliscan? Thank goodness you finally got something solid to help combat them.

    Yes, indeed

Front dual heads are angled out 7 deg (still get JTG performance on PL2 / LRB / Stalker LZ-1)

Rear triple heads, two outer sensors at 35 deg, and CM sensor at 0 degree (JFG with above guns)

Unless you are crazy like me who had 4 heads up front and 4 rear at one point lol...

I even found the g9 heads to do rather well on detection.

Thankfully QPS haven't been playing with their trial poliscan of late...

When i learned that Li would not cover all potential threats in NYS , the decision was easy :
only 1 ticket would cover half the cost of a dual + lost points + insurance premium .

What makes the Alp so great : the Team behind the machine

For me, it was that I got a ticket and wanted CMs on my car. If I was going to go through the effort to buy and install them, I want to be able to use the system I install for the longest period of time. This means getting the best system there is, and hoping that it can continue to jam all of the guns farther into the future than anything else on the market right now.

Yes, to have to uninstall old system and reinstall new one is a pain in the arse !

First car, removed HP-905 quad as it didn't and won't ever jam Poliscan, and installed ALP to be protected against our biggest threat

Second car, removed LI quad and replaced with ALP after seeing superior performance of ALP vs Poliscan on first car.

Well, I just ordered a set of ALPs today. I haven't seen anything but PL3s in my state. I currently have LI HPs on my Denali. I think I will pull the LIs off and put them on another vehicle. The biggest thing for me is I do travel through states like Ga that use some of the harder to jam guns. But, even though I doubt I will even see anything that the LIs can't handle. I think it's better to stay ahead of the curve........ And I want to see it on my phone.
