You would think so but I think they have 2 power settings going by the manual. I believe its on low power when they are on rear attack, plus the rd is less likely to pick up the beam until last moment.
Be interesting to see how the stinger plays against the ddm.

    Added dinky - cheers WB

cheers mate done one run kwikie only shop fronts showing on plus and chirping, nothing from S, so i presume setting band k is set within the limits
Done a bit of checking on setting there is adjustments for sensitively and extra distance warnings. No settings for band seg, KA or K. pre loaded by the looks of it and automatically recognizes which state Ur in , looking into that with RH

Yeah, the MRCD is a strange beastie though (I think the V1 detects it as multiple bogeys on k band)

I think the Gatso and Redflex are more conventional though, just polarised in one plane and low powered.

The Stinger's patch antenna is supposed to cope with horizontal / vertical polarisation with no issues, so MRCD must be different

    hmm...

I'm just speculating here, but looking at the patches themselves, and the way they're rotated 45 degrees, it almost looks like they're designed for linear polarization and rotating them 45 degrees so that they're a compromise halfway between vertical and horizontally polarized sources.

I believe the Multanovas are vertically polarized so it looks like they're simply rotating it another 45 degrees to help with detecting it, at the cost of diminished horizontal polarization performance.

    Just a guess.
