Full Sti-r or the STI-R antena integration with ALP

Been looking at this for a bit and I have myself talked into getting the full STI-R+ with quad ALP on my Audi S6. Wanted to confirm my thinking before pulling the trigger.
If I have things right here are the advantages of the two approaches:

    Full STI-R+ :
    Pro's:
    Blocks false alarms with GPS
Works even if the iPhone got left behind
    Con's:
    Much more expensive
Two systems to manage while driving

STI-R+ Antenna integration with ALP (basically the reverse of the first option)
    Pro's
One integrated system displaying on the iPhone
    Less dollars
    Con's
Will lite up radar every time you go by that garage :-)
    No iPhone no system.

For me living in a city with a mostly surburban commute, the GPS seems really important as working without the iphone.

Reasonable conclusion? Anyone else have this set up with any lessons learned?

I have both setups. Stir and ALP integrated in one car, stir and alp not integrated in the other. I stopped using GPS based lockouts when I stopped using my 9500ix. I like the integrated option better. What you will like is what your personal preferences are.

I have the Al and STiR+ systems working together..and also find myself in the same situation as yourself with my second AL install (currently running V1)..to get another STiR+ integrated or stand alone...
I have been messing with V1 LE and Sealth and find myself ultimately trying to emulate the GPS function of the BEL...and of course I can't do it...or can't do it well or easily...but that is for another discussion..
I guess one aspect is the type of driving you do or rather area of falses...if predominantly highway then the integrated would suffice and work well but for me at least the ability to lock out is the breaking point..as I spend alot of time on the phone in the vehicle I just hate falses when trying to concentrate on a discussion..and...to add the breakout box for the AL later is not that big a $ hit...
Then there is the aspect of GPS on the AL you didn't mention for speed threshold radar setting...and red light / speed trap setting on the STiR+...too many options

Well detection will be the same, regardless of platform. The only difference being lockouts and GPS defender database with the full plus. I have both systems and ran them against a stationary false and they both alerted at the same time.
