If the username "theaudir8fan" is any indication of the vehicle, Audis don't have any laser based systems that I'm aware of, just radar based. But if it's a different vehicle, some that cause laser falses include Infiniti's cruise control, as well as Volvo and some newer Mazdas have a laser based smart city brake system. But then the R8 being the exotic model, perhaps it does have some laser based features.

also is any heads recessed ie hidden

That's the "laser scanner" alert (see at 1:28)

I get those occasionally when I'm driving. Poliscan falls under that sound category, because I pulled the stats file after getting an alert like that and it showed a Poliscan hit (but since I know Poliscan is not used in my area, I know it was a false). The vast majority of the time, I see those alerts come from the rear.

For it to keep happening either he has a bad rear sensor or he has laser guidance systems. We can keep guessing but unless the member comes back and confirms what vehicle he is using there is not much else we can do.

Thanks to everyone for the reply and pitching in ideas, really appreciate the help from a great community.

Been a little busy today so sorry for the delayed reply, this is the ALP quad set up with 2 front and 2 rear on a 2013 BMW X5M.

I'm pretty sure my car doesn't have laser guidance system. The car doesn't have any blind spot monitoring or active cruise control either.

You probably have an issue with one of the rear heads if you have no guidance systems. Disconnect one head at a time until the problem stops.

Try disconnecting one head at a time and see if it makes a difference. If disconnecting a certain head makes the falses stop, the issue is with that head or cable.

    BRD beat me to it.

Ok i will give that a try over the next few days so i can take more time for each observation, thanks

As one mentioned earlier, i will take the car out later today to see if it occurs again, if so i will get the file dumped to a usb stick and hopefully get some info there

Put the Settings in LID = Unlimited so that when the alert goes off it will not auto kill it and then start to disconnect the heads one at a time until the alerts stop. Give it a few moments after you disconnect each head.
