    Delayed ALP alert.

I was driving to work today. It seems my local police now have the TruSpeed. I was on my way to the Parkway and my wife and daughter were following me in my wife's car. Down the road I saw a white BMW pulled over with a cop standing next to it. He had the TruSpeed in his hand. He was not aiming at cars when I passed right next to him. I am pretty sure he was shooting me as I approached from a distance. After I got about 200' past him, the ALP gave me 2 Alerts. Both saying that they were Forward alerts. When it first went off I thought maybe he was shooting me in the rear. (no jokes please) The MAX in my car and the 9500ix in my wife's were silent the whole time. Which I expected.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Any insights would be helpful.

Could it be a bluetooth delay? I'm thinking you may not have the remote led in use to confirm alp connect timing with led?
    Just a guess.

    What is the question ?
1.Why didn't the AL-P alert before you got to him?
    -or-
2.Why didn't your Max or wife's CM alert?

    Yes RR #1.

I know why the 2 Radar Detectors did not alert.

Well,we'll see how you do when we meet in Taxachusetts in a few days.
I would guess he was targeting the cars ahead of you & b/c the TS throws out such a narrow beam (at short range) you got no scatter,by the time you became his interest at <200' (or less) it took a couple of seconds for him to re-aim & pull trigger ...you were just about on top of him by then.

Without having a cam and more details my guess is he shot a vehicle in front of you or even on the other side of the road as you passed and with the sensitivity of the ALP you caught a reflection off of the other vehicle that was shot. ALP's respond instantly and I have never seen a delay on any shot.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

I agree with Toms assessment as I've never seen a delay in the testing we have done and Won and I have tested every gun except a laser atlanta.

If it was a reflection, it should of been a Rear alert and not a Front alert. Right? Since I was 200' past him and there is no way the 3 front sensors would got a reflection.

If he shot a car behind you yes, it should have been a rear alert. However, if for some reason he shot a car in front of you, even after you passed, you would get the alert from the front. ALP's are ridiculous sensitive and will pick up scatter. The only explanation would be for some reason he shot a car in front of you, after you passed him.

Ok. I guess the next investment is going to be a CAM. I wanted to turn around and try it again but I was running late. The next time I see them in my town with it, I am going to do a couple laps.
