He's no friend, just a muppet who..

    1. Didnt kill his jammers on 4 separate occasions over 3-4 years when targetted by camera equipped laser vans thus bringing himself to their attention.
    2. Got nicked once being a dick, £1000 fine
    3. did the same again.. 2 months in prison

Result? He allowed a test case to be taken against him thus ensuring if this happens again a precedent has been set for anyone else in the same position.
Interestingly the second time had a Blinder HP905 fitted and the police operator said he knew he was being jammed by the error codes (E-01 to E-03, yeh right I get those aiming at a wall) and the sound the gun made. Load of bollax imho simply said in court but add weight to their piss poor argument but he did bring it on himself by being a tool. Sadly now he's made too many police forces aware of jammers and their abilities. I preferred it when cops thought jammers were rubbish and their guns were infallible devices "made originally for NASA."

Thanks pal. It seems the "privacy mode" is my best option if this coded profile switch wont be implemented.

What an idiot. People like that need to have their jammers smashed. And their car windows smashed too. And they should be added to a blacklist by all jammer manufacturers to make sure they can't get another jammer ever again.

If you're really paranoid, use Privacy mode as discussed. Then the ALP will only function as parking sensors without a USB with a key file inserted.

For those who need a parking only emergency mode but don't want to use Privacy mode, just create a USB with a single profile on it for parking only, and insert it when you are pulled over. Hide out destroy your jamming setup USB and they won't be able to enable jamming without creating a new setup file.

as far as i know the privacy key is only for theft why would any LEO spend his time there and then to test? when he will confiscate on the spot , he will see you another day in court at your expense

other wise tell your your mate learn to JTK

in this particular case , car being towed without permission , one automatic way to lock/unlock would be a bluetooth controled relay ,
as soon you quit the car the cpu is ,at choice , parking or dead .

But you always need your phone...nothing's perfect.

There are actually two "protection modes" in the ALP. Privacy Protection and Theft Protection. They are different service codes but work similarly. Both put a key file on the USB which is then required for the unit to function. The difference is how the unit responds without the key: in Privacy mode it'll only function as parking sensors, in theft mode it won't function at all, or power up without the key.

The Theft Protection isn't documented anywhere except in the FAQ on the AL site.

Once either of these are enabled there's no way to remove it, so I don't recommend most people use them unless they really need to.

Thanks for that as I could only find the info on the theft protection.

Would you mind posting the method to install the privacy mode? By PM if you prefer, cheers!
