Paranoid? I'd suggest being careful to ensure I don't lose my Liberty for the sake of preventing a speeding fine isn't paranoid. It's calmly, logically sensible.
I've had jammers on my cars for almost 10 years and the law here in the UK has never explicitly outlawed them. Only recently has there been test cases that have led to draconian sentences for those caught having used them to evade a speeding fine.
There is no mention of a privacy mode in my manual. There is an anti theft option mentioned which explicitly states that the ALP will not "power on" without the USB key inserted. I assume you guys mean this?
Is the manual incorrect and it should say "remains in parking mode?"
If that's the case then the security key is the way for me to go obviously albeit with the associated risks of losing that key.
