After using my ALP for a few weeks I have a suggestion for protecting those of us that use our systems in areas with dubious legality...

At this point if I was stopped and wished to ensure that my system appeared to be only a parking system with no evidence of it being capable of jamming I have to slip in a USB drive and change the firmware.

The other option will be when the "User profiles" firmware becomes live, however this still doesnt remove the jamming option, merely hides it in an easily discoverable user profile should anyone execute a simple button press.

Now this is what I would propose as a half way house between the two options above..

I'd like to see my ALP have two user profiles available at start up, with the Profile 1 always loaded first. This would be my parking only profile.

Then within the ALP firmware website I can set a unique code which would be a combination of button presses to switch the profiles to the jamming one (Profile 2). This way I can load the jamming profile whenever I start the car, but if my car was impounded, only I would be able to get it into the jamming profile by using the unique code of button presses.

    So,

    1. Start car, ALP loads User profile 1 (which would be parking only for me)
    2. I enter my unique combo of buttons (eg menu - power - power - menu) to switch to profile 2 (jamming)
    3. If I get rumbled, just cycle the power and the ALP stays in profile 1 with no evidence of a jamming capability.

Effectively a user definable code to switch profiles, with Profile 1 being the default loaded at start up.

I'd hope this would only require a little programming from where the "User profile" firmware is now as it only adds that button combo setting.
