The enforcement in Australia had the right to test things in your car without you permission & search your entire car too, even pull your car apart if the suspect. They even go through your phone.

Last thing I would like them to see is an alarm history with Ultralye in it lol
LEO's have made a semi-regular habit of going through people's phones during questioning in the USA as well. Every court case that I am aware of has upheld their right to do so. This issue has not been before the US Supreme Court yet, and I a m certain that it eventually will, ( and I'm not optimistic about what they would decide with the current court's track record) Meantime, don't have anything *incriminating* on your phone.

Or encrypt your cell phone: http://www.techrepublic.com/article/...evel-security/ Then if pulled over, switch the phone OFF (or pull the battery), thus getting rid of the contents of the RAM, and protecting yourself against cold boot attacks: http://www.extremetech.com/computing...in-the-freezer

So long as the LEOs do not ever SEE evidence of something illegal on there, they likely can't compel you to decrypt the contents. There appears to be a huge leap between when the government KNOWS about incriminating content on a device, and just can't access it (for example, if they take a phone, and see evidence of jammer usage on said phone) and when it merely SUSPECTS that there's something incriminating on there. In the former case, courts have held that you can be compelled to decrypt the contents of the device, but in the latter, the Fifth Amendment protections apply. The key is to prevent the LEOs from seeing anything incriminating in the first place.

It only takes a few seconds to delete the app off your phone. And they have no way of knowing if the heads in the grill have any connection to the phone in your pocket anyway. And if they want a demonstration, it's easy enough to show them how your parking sensors work.

Many have said to turn phone off, clear history etc if you get pulled over.
I believe and would like to see an icon or something you can touch on your phone which sets it to PDC mode quickly if you get pulled over. A cop will definitely sees the sensors and if he questions it and wants a demo, what do you do?
As someone said, even the graphics are a bit suspect. I don't buy the argument what if someone forgets to turn it back on! If someone has bought this system, they should have the ability to use it properly and if they can't, it's their fault not ALP.
I also don't want to keep a USB in the slot permanently and have to fiddle and pull it out to get PDC only.
Surely something easy can be programmed into it

Any chance we can have an option in ALPConnect to use the GPS antenna which is plugged into the r/g module for its speed reading, rather than use the iPhone internal GPS which drains the battery quite fast ?

Here's another idea I had for those in illegal areas where their phones may be illegally searched: offer a "stealth" version of ALPConnect that initially looks and runs like a simple game app, something like Solitaire. When launched, a hidden button would pop up a "game cheat" screen that asks for a PIN that, when entered, would open up the ALPConnect functionality.

Then if a LEO pulls you over and demands you hand the phone over, all he sees is some harmless game app. Plus it gives you something to play while waiting for your ticket.
