some of you guys are still learning with the poliscan
maybe some are still getting 1 km range to 500 metre range ,,, i remember this range back in the days but no where near jamming
let me know when you encounter the 35 to 45 degree poliscan
Just installed the new firmware update and I'm really loving the development that AL is working on and providing to us!
I just went out to go see how the new options fare and have a few changes to suggest if I may.
When I JTK in Pro Mode, the LED stays locked on or off while it's announcing that it's now in receive mode only. I forget the exact phrasing. So what happens is if you JTK while the LED is on, the LED gets stuck on no matter if you're being targeted or not until it's done with the announcement. Same thing if the LED is off. It won't light up until it's done talking. I'd like to see the Pro Mode LED continue to function like normal even while the ALP is telling you that it's no longer jamming.
I love the really annoying buzz if you don't JTK. I didn't like it at first due to annoyances, but it'll definitely motivate people to kill their jammers in practice.I'd like it if there was a longer delay once you JTK before it reactivates. It reactivates pretty quickly if you JTK and the LEO stops targeting you so what could happen is you get shot, JTK, the LEO gets a reading and stops shooting you. Then if he waits a few seconds and shoots you again, you'll resume jamming and won't know until it goes through the voice announcement and the buzz resumes. Thus it'd be helpful to have a slightly longer delay. I do like the bright blue LED to let you know that your jammers are rearmed though. I wonder if I'll notice that in the heat of the moment, especially if I'm looking for the LEO and not at my dash.
I love that you can now switch your jammers between jamming and parking mode on the fly! I also love that when you switch them to parking, it tells you that parking mode is activated. When you set them to jam, you just get a beep. No verbal announcement. Very nice.I would like to see a three-mode switch where I could also set my jammers to receive mode only. I loved this feature with the 905's and would actually JBK and see if and for how long I get targeted. Not sure how you'd want to set up the voice announcements, but I'm sure AL can think of something simple that works.
I'd also love it if the profile changes loaded immediately once you insert and remove the USB stick without having to power cycle the ALP.
Oh and of course if "Active!" could be disabled if we choose the silent startup option. I run my jammers at full volume so I can hear it over my music and with the top down, but it's crazy loud (volume 5) when I start the car initially with the windows up and music off and all.
Thanks!![]()

@Vortex, I haven't tried it, but perhaps you can turn the Master volume lower to keep ACTIVE Woman under control and then use the various volume override knobs to make laser alerts louder?

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

One thing I would like changed is after you mute the parking sensors (actual parking beeps) that is does not Un-mute, you must physically un-mute it again by pressing the button, even after restarting the car? I would think at least it would un-mute after you cut the car off and then restart?

I'm sure most if not all I'm requesting as already been asked for, but personally this is what I'd like to see in future updates
- A dedicated screen like Stinger so I can scrap using a dedicated phone running llama which can be inconsistent during automated startup.
- Firmware and Full Setup changes through ALPConnect plus have ALPConnect check for newest firmware upon start up.
- Multiple Profiles in ALPConnect
- Export & save Stats file from ALPConnect
- Clear the stats file on CPU or at least have a “recent alerts since last Stats file download” file/view.
- Rename Stats file to, oh I don’t know, STATS.ALP? lol
- Ability to toggle user specified voice alerts for segmented KA band like YaV1 ITB voice alerts.
(KA 2 would say 33 8, 5 would say 34 7, 7 would say 35 2, & 8 would say 35 5).- Having Pro Mode enabled on ALPConnect so the phone shows when being targeted along with displaying the real time pulses.
- Ability to import, configure, and use custom alerts/tones/sound files/etc with ALPConnect/HiFi.

I'd like to see an ALP Travel Edition (for temporary use only, in rental cars). It would include the following:
- An ALP sensor holder capable of swiveling up and down (pitch axis), left and right (yaw axis), and sideways (roll axis) and locking all three settings in place. This would be good for attaching to a rental car with double sided tape, and quickly orienting so that it faces forward.
- Special "slim" sensor cables (similar to SATA cables) that can be run through the space gap in the front door behind the hinges, as well run through the crack in the hood and out the grill. This will mostly hide the cable, as the only visible section would be between the doors and the hood. A quick job with duct tape could attach the cable to something in the engine compartment so that it doesn't come loose.
- A power adapter for the CPU that attaches to the cigarette lighter.
- A power splitter for running a radar CM, like a Redline, from the same cigarette lighter
- A controller holder that can be mounted on a vehicle's vent
