Are there any plans on ALP being able to switch between jam and detect WITHOUT changing that via USB?

I would love to be able to switch between those settings so for areas I drive a lot and openly see radar I wont be jamming them 10 times a day (literally that many lol) I now know you can hit the control pad to kill jamming but that is only once and alert has gone off.

You can already do it with the control pad and switch between the LID Settings:

Press MENU and hold as long as LED light turns from Yellow to Blue and you can manually change these blue-menu options:

    1. PDC/DLI/LID option setup
Pres MENU/Next once (1) when in a blue menu, then press Enter (LED will turn white when you enter submenu)
Press MENU/Next once, twice, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten times depending on your preference (choose below) then press Enter to activate.
1 – for Parking detection only
    2 – for PDC&DLI detection only
    3 – for 3 seconds LID defense
    4 – for 4 seconds LID defense
    5, 6, 7, 8,
    9 – for 9 seconds LID defense
10 – for time unlimited LID defense

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

That's a pain IMO. That might be ok for somewhere with not a lot of radar.. Im not exagerrating when I say 10 times a day, I dont want to have to continually be going through the menu like that.

Just a one click on/off that only switches between the two modes detect only and previous setting

I don't want to have to remember 8000 menu clicks. Just a one click on/off that only switches between the two modes detect only and previous setting
Its 2 buttons and about 5 button presses. I think you are exaggerating by around 7995 menu clicks. It will take a few seconds..

Exaggerating button clicks, Yes. Exaggerating how many times a day you would have to do that here, No. lol

This is my only quirk with it, for on the fly changes the control pad is caveman era. A dedicated mode button to toggle between modes would have been a great idea.

Why would you ever need to switch modes so many times? Keep the USB in your center console with different USB drives if you want to switch back and forth between settings.

I'm not going to beat a dead horse here. All I want is to be able to toggle between a current setting, whatever that may be (4sec jtk) and detect only. A mode toggle button. Without going through an entire menu each time lol
Its located up under my passenger side dash. That is impossible.

If it cant happen, then thats fine. Ill live with it.

We do supply USB extension cables with each unit CPU so you should put it somewhere convenient to you if you want to make that many changes. There is no other way besides using the controller or USB memory sticks to load different configurations.

I see what you are saying, have your custom loads stored in the control unit itself so you dont need to keep loading thru USB, and All anyone needs to do is go to a page on the ALP connect and pick the load you want to run Sounds like a great thing to have but not sure it can be done at this time.
