I did download and apply the ucsthifi.bin file. I think I know what the problem may be, and will have to test it after work today. I use the same USB stick for all my ALP files. I had both the original control set file and the ucsthifi.bin files loaded on the stick. I wonder if having both files on the USB stick caused some confusion. I re-downloaded my firmware, ucsthifi.bin, voicepck.alp, and setup.alp files and deleted the old control set file. I'll let you know if this solves the problem.

I did the update again just now with a freshly downloaded set of files and still the buttons on the hi-fi control set don't work. The led light continues to blink, parking sensors work, laser defense works, just the control set buttons don't. Any suggestions?

I am out at the moment. I will PM you something to try in the morning. In the mean time can you send me a video of what is happening when you press and hold the menu button?

BRD, as CommandrKeen asked, what's the advantage of performing the warmup at startup? What exactly does it do -- is it just a self-test?

New Update is getting ready to be rolled out. It will take 24-48 hours for everyone's unit to be activated for this update. Please try to wait for the update email informing you that the update is ready for you.

Details of the 5.1.3 update: (07/16/15)

Control Box Firmware update: Release 5.1.3/6.3

    1. Various bug-fixes and stability improvements (Self-test,Voice, Regions, Radars, GPS etc.).
    2. Laser interference performance improved for several guns.
    3. New Service code Sixty to Zero is available (Yellow 7: 3-2-2). This will temporarily turn your ALP system into a performance meter able to measure your vehicles Braking time from 60 mph to 0 mph. This mode only works if a GPS Antenna is connected and if a HiFi Control Set is used.
    4. New Service code Quarter-Mile is available (Yellow-7: 3-2-3). This will temporarily turn your ALP system into a performance meter able to measure your vehicles time to cross a distance of a ¼ mile from a full stop. 5. Initial Release to Support “Over the Air” OTA wireless firmware updates of the ALP system over the ALPConnect® smartphone app. The latest ALP BT Module is required! The 5.1.3 firmware update needs to be applied via USB flash drive and only then will future updates be possible on the OTA feature of the ALPConnect!

    7. New selectable option: GPS signal lost - voice warning. It can be set to announce loss of GPS lock: every time, during longer absence of signal, or only the first time it happens.
    8. New feature, Get Serial Number of your ALP Control Box to a USB. Insert a USB flash drive containing an empty "getsn.alp" file on it and the ALP will write an "sn.alp" file containing the serial number onto the USB drive.
