Hmm. I have my led set to dark mode - so that won't be a way for me to tell either :/. When the system boots up now, I get fast led flashing green - don't remember this pre gps installation. I assume that is telling me that the GPS antenna is attached?

To prevent damage to the Radar/GPS Module they decided to go the route of distributing their own GPS Antenna. They will not be expensive and should retail for around $40. I will have more information next week.

    Attachment 1071

With using GPS there are 3 settings to adjust on the ALP Setup site:

    1. Laser Interference Defense mechanism will not be activated unless you are moving at the speed greater then what you define.
    2. Radar detection will not be activated unless you are moving at the speed greater then what you define
    3. Parking alerts will not be given if vehicle is driving at speed above what you define

You can define different speeds for each of these processes when setting up your ALP on the ALP Setup site: http://www.alpupdate.com

Does the ALP work with an ORIGINAL STi-R (non PLUS) antenna? ALP might be a nice option to upgrade my STi-R to Plus and get better jammer heads at the same time

Just to clarify that the LED inside the GPS antenna (not the ALP control set) blinks red once it has a lock. It never goes solid red

What if the GPS antenna light is constantly blinking red? Mine blinks roughly every second

What is the behavior of the ALP, if you're under a speed threshold? Is it:
    1. No alert
    2. No audible alert, no firing back, but still logs the event

Also, if you go below and then above a speed threshold and you're in Dark Mode, do the LEDs flash green and then blue? Or do they not flash at all?

Under speed threshold, you're in detect only mode (yellow car on ALPConnect, or yellow LED on control set), so you will get a lidar detection/alert logged (no firing back). If you have the STi-R+ integrated, you get no radar alert/log below the threshold.

After the initial warm up period when it goes into dark mode, the LED's do not flash again when you cross the threshold. If not in dark mode, the LED flashes blue when above the threshold (defense), and flashes yellow (detection only) below the threshold.

I've been running the GPS Atenna on my ALP Quad / STIR Plus combo for a couple days now. The GPS antenna completely changed my experience for the better. No more radar falsing, while sitting or slowly moving through traffic. For ~ $40 - it's a no brainer.

    Well done ALP!

I'd still be worried about not catching I/O shots. Say you're stuck in traffic, and right past the jam, there's a cop shooting I/O...
