Posted from my profile on beltronics forum! Kband segmentation myth or reality ?
Hello Guys and Gals on forum,
I'm rather frustrated to see my Beltronics Stir + (remote Au/Nz Model) is suffering from picking up frequencies that I've programmed it to not look for and yet day after day I see Kband 3 & 4 , & i see K.A bands as well,
After using all the different settings it's useless
I only need 4 frequencies scanned and don't want to hear or see a peep out of my detector unless it is one of the 4 I chose to have alerts to,
I feel maybe band filtering could help like on the Al Gen 13,
Example
Al's options ( Also has kband segementation,
City, Red Yellow Green = Red no alert yellow medium alert Green full alert,
Highway, Red Yellow Green = Red no alert yellow medium alert Green full alert,
Beltronics detector tools,
Autoscan, highway, Citynx, city
Beltronics need to look after customers in Australia and New Zealand better with more software updates as I feel your falling behind, Love to hear back about what Beltronics are doing to fix the dramas with auto Lock, and now this,
I've encountered radar traps and turned on super wide bands etc etc and still no pick up even when I was parked behind him for 30mins even adjusted settings and I'm running the Al Priority so its meant to be full proof hand in hand and I still can pick up the servo doors as i drive past yet no speed camera vans ( Gatso vans)
Why not open source the software to AuNz if you guys are going to remain delivering the best radar detectors in the world!

i run a USA plus, since they first came out and some time ago when i logged in for any upgrades, it came up on my comp screen all the band seg thats for eu , never seen it before so i reported it to larry (EScort) any way as time went by my k band warning went to nearly usless warning distance, then the gps lock went nuts, and a wirung check came on , so did a full reset, as told to do, guess what got k band seg display again which has never been on the usa plus,, larry recommended that it went back to Escort , when i got it back it looked like a new ant, also replaced the gps, and a new and a new shorter usb cable, been ok since,
kudos to Larry
this is before any alp bt came out

run wb on k and ka if ur new to the plus then take the police verification down load, after a few months ,give you a good idea of whats around ka, , k band here in oz is very narrow and hard to pin point any seg on k, so run k, wide all the time, until you feel really confident as it,s easy to mis with seg on k

agree with DD, sounds like a firmware error. Do a reset and if problem still persists contact Larry.
