Thank you Tom. The fix works perfectly. It's funny though I keep going in to settings and trying to set in manually still. I guess I will get used to it being fixed. Now what can I bitch about?

I have 8.2 from Developers account and it has not fixed anything to date regarding Bluetooth issue.
Hopefully before the public release version they will have it sorted
Have just downloaded ios8.2 Beta 4
Have not had a chance to do a full road test but will do tonight
Initiall impression just on quick start up and a few minutes sitting in car there seems to be NO connection issues.
and I'm hoping the problem has been resolved
Will report back after I do an extended test drive
Finally!
iOS 8.2 Beta 4 has fixed the Bluetooth connection issues, at least it has on my IPhone 6 Plus and hopefully I would think for everyone else.
Drove fro home to work, approx half an hour and no issues.
Please note this is on 8.2 Beta 4 Developer which will be a while before it is released to the public.
Next public release I think is in a week or so so rumor has it and will be 8.1.3
Whether Apple have fixed the problem for that release will remain to be seen, but my guess it will be
This sounds promising. Keep us updated.

Fingers crossed that the real bluetooth fix is in iOS 8.2 when finally released and said fix works on all devices.
Not sure which is worse, Apple's guaranteed yearly updates which seem to have major breakages until at least the X.1 version, or being left behind on Android.
(Own an iPhone 5S and a OnePlus One phone running Android 4.4, so not a fanboy on either side)
When using USB/Bluetooth to stereo and having existing music playing on a 5S running iOS 8.1.2, when I launch ALPConnect it pauses any playing music applications (primarily pandora for me).. It seems to do so always at launch and occasionally thereafter (e.g. I have pressed play again and for a while music plays with ALPConnect sounds playing as appropriate, but then the music application will randomly pause completely and not resume after the ALP alert is done).
Anyone observe this behavior? Convinced it may be a quirk in my stereo system in my car, but if others experience this problem, it might not be.
