    Oh,so it's not an oscillating back-and-forth sweep then.Sounds more like a multifaceted,rotating mirror it would seem to be.

    I'm told there's a rotating prism type thing in there

    Here's some blurb from our local police force ;

    The PoliScanspeed camera is designed to concurrently detect, track and enforce multiple
    vehicles on single lane and multi-lane roads. It uses 3D scene capture and vehicle tracking
    to determine the speed of each vehicle and whether the vehicle is exceeding the set speed
    limit.

    The PoliScanspeed camera uses a high resolution scanning laser, constantly capturing the
    scene within the measurement zone. This enables individual vehicles to be detected and
    precisely tracked through the measurement zone.
    Our LEO's also use the 100pps Ultralyte's so will take it easy for a a bit. Hopefully the ALP is not trying to use the UL100 algo against the Poliscan
