The new HW4 CPU is the latest version of the ALP CPU and it has been shipping for a few weeks now. For laser protection there is no functional difference between the older HW2 and the newest HW4 CPU. The HW4 CPU adds additional memory which is needed for new features that will be releasing in the future for our customers with integrated radar configurations. The only physical change is that we have switched to a new Black Enclosure vs, the standard grey enclosures.

Fingers crossed that isn't the case, I have a couple of STi-R heads and rg modules.
In the US we stopped selling them 2+ years ago. We will not stop the support of them but NR has really become a much better solution and it will grow in time.

will there be an upgrade program? Will the STi-R+ still work if upgrading to the new unit?
Its still new but in time we will offer an upgrade to those that need it. Most BSM Filtering is done in the antenna and a Sti-R Plus has very poor filtering so you might eventually want to upgrade to a newer NR DSP head.

We tend to hang onto the STIR+ for RDD immunity, especially for those going into NSW, its pretty much instant loss of license if HWP detects anything in that state.
Though in other states it isn't as much of an issue.
Apart from WA/SA, who have K band HWP, the rest of the country uses KA for HWP, but the whole country now apart from WA now uses Redflex Radar Speed Cameras, so we are pretty much screwed no matter which RD we use presently.

Will HW2 be compatible with any new NR features or will the new CPU be a must? I've been wanting a screen for ages so this sure is exciting, but my 4 year old HW2 is still perfect and I just want to be able to lockout
New radar features will require a new CPU. HW2 CPU's are just about out of memory.
