The heads need to have a completely clear view of the road ahead (not blocked and need to be sticking out slightly for off axis shots) and be level vertically, horizontal and aim straight down the road with no toe in/out.
I would suggest looking at the install thread for pictures on how everyone else has placed the heads.

Please post a picture of your entire front end, we will help where to put your sensors
That is one of the worst installs I have seen. You will not have any protection with that install.

i had the heads set back on audi q5 in the grill and they tested ok, suggest testing first before moving them, they are better than what people think, they have a clear view of the road, off axis testing needed
You'll get a warning alert most likely, but that's only a notice you are about to be pulled over.
You have almost 100 % blockage of the IR output from the Sensor diode b/c of where it is placed behind the grill lattice work. - The Police will eat you alive with this install !
Thanks guys. I downloaded the picture Tom gave me and was originally the way the install was planned; however, during the reading of the instructions and everything this is what the came up with for "stealth
install". My concern was off axis shots with this set up. They are going to move the heads forward and flush with the grill inserts. Working on a photo...They are placed in the locations Tom suggested...left, middle, right inserts... just need to be flushed outside of the grill

2015 Jeep GC SRT... I have it posted in placement and advice section... I went with the recommended install locations, but when I went to pick it up this is how it was done. I knew by the research and advice that it wasnt effective for off axis shots and most likely overpass... but I wanted to first get a second thought.
I am going back tomorrow and getting it corrected.
Do the three sensors need to be flush with the front of the grille inserts or flush with the grill trim to be most effective?
Flush with the outer Grill trim would be most effective - flush with the grill mesh would be more stealth but should get it tested to make sure you're protected.
Personally I'd make them flush with the outer grill trim and go for performance over looks and put them like the Jeep BRD posted....Your grill is all blacked out and it would be hard to see them there anyway.
I have mine on a chrome grill for 8 months and to this day I've never had a single person notice them. 1 person did see my rear sensors and said oh hey parking sensors...do they work good?
Flush w/ the grill inserts (meaning flush w/ the front edge of the lattice work) will perform just fine. Just try to keep the "bubble" centered horizontally, (like as shown in the pix you posted). This is b/c you want to minimize any chances of "shading" being caused if the receiving "bubble" is to close to either side of the outer chrome trim that surrounds the inner lattice work. Shading occurs when you get within a few hundred feet of the Shooter & the incoming incident angles increase dramatically the closer you get to a Shooter on either side of road shoulders.Quote:

Take two/three more pix for us.
1. At Bumper high from Passenger side looking across Front-end.
2. At Bumper high from Driver side looking across the Front-end.
3. From exact Center knees 6" from Bumper looking almost straight down from shoulder height, try to get all 3 Sensors within frame.

Looks pretty good & rather Stealthy,too. Next-up is Testing against a good civilian Shooter before you're ready for the Blue Meanies. :D
Thank you RedRocket. I was getting a little disappointed they could not get the alignment; however, they did give 100% on trying to make it right. I think overall it's quite stealthlike, I just hope it's super effective.
Hopefully the shop learned a lesson and they don't do future installs that way. The original install was really awful. Looks much better now.
