Can you integrate a Full Sti-R Plus with the AL Priority?

I get asked this question daily and I thought the description we had was clear but I will clarify this for new customers looking for information.

You can not integrate any Beltronics or Escort radar detector with the AL Priority at this time. The RG (Radar & GPS) Module that we sell is only to integrate several 3rd party radar antennas to the ALP. The key word is antenna (Not Radar Detector), The AL Priority can be connected directly to the Antenna from the Beltronics Sti-R Plus using the RG Module and it will look something like this:

The only part being used from the Beltronics Sti-R Plus is the Radar Receiver, No other part of a Full Beltronics Sti-R Plus can be used. We sell the antenna receivers separately.

You will get full radar alerts into the ALP and it works well but you will not get the full features of the full Sti-R Plus. What you lose in this integration is the Auto Learn capability which can ignore marked false alert locations and you also lose the Red Light & fixed speed camera database. If you are not using the HiFi or ALP Connect you also will not have radar voice alerts.

So for the (future) V1 integration, how can you connect just an antenna (as opposed to the full detector)?

The V1 will be the exception to this rule since you can connect and communicate with it while it also continues to operate on its own. Unlike YaV1 which communicates directly through the V1 BT unit, The ALP will connect directly to the V1. We discuss more about the V1 at a later time when AL completes that integration.

What are the advantages to doing the integration then? For the STiR+, it's to save about $500 by not having to buy the full system, while still having a great remote mount radar receiver. In this case, the R/G module is more expensive than a V1 concealed display unit.

The V1 CD is somewhat obsolete with the introduction of the the V1C though.
I'm really looking forward to see how the ALP integration with V1 goes, hopefully it retains a pop up from background effect so that Waze can run foreground.

It can do that now with Radar Integration and should have frequency display etc. like it already has with the Sti-R Plus integration. I am sure AntiLaser will also take advantage of the directional arrows.

Integration with ALP Connect should be very nice and will be well worth the cost of the RG Module.

Are you saying that it can integrate with V1 through the RG module now? Or that it pops up from background on a lidar alert or radar with Stir+ already? If it's the former I'll be wanting that RG module to try out.

Not yet on the V1, The Radar & Laser Alerts now with the Sti-R Plus integration can wake it up, unlock your phone and bring the alerts up front within a second from the background. (Android Version) - There is no wake up and come forward option on the Apple version.

Gotcha, looking forward to this development, I don't really need lockouts so the best thing about YaV1 for me is the pop up boxes. Customized sweeps and wake up integrated with ALP would work fine for me.
This is off topic, but I'm typing already... can the power harness for the cpu be bought separately? (to allow swapping of cpu from one vehicle to another)

So I guess there's nothing for standard/hifi control set users with the V1 integration then?

By the way, if using ALP Connect (or the future AL Display), will it show if multiple radar frequencies are being received at the same time?

Radar integration works with any controller but what benefit would there be to have the V1 beeping away and the ALP controller beeping away if it does not add additional functionality.

If you have a graphic display such as the one with ALP Connect you can add information to make the integration make sense.

While I don't have a full STI-R system, I do have the currently available ALP integration and find it works really well, I have K as well as KA segmented for what the local boys use in my region which is excellent for the low power cameras used here, while it doesn't have lockouts etc I am quite happy with it just the way it is right now given the price difference.

any update on thw 9500ci antenna integration? with the better LNA I would rather have that when I order my ALPs.

Wont be any time soon since I dont have a 9500CI or an RDR/BS 9500CI antenna to play with but I would bet it would work with the Beltronics Sti-R Plus settings once they update the existing antennas. I doubt they will do anything different with the settings other than what the Beltronics Sti-R Plus was already setup with.

well I wont be ordering till at the earliest the late spring/early summer so hopefully all will be good by then.

My current set up is an STiR plus run as an independent system from the ALP.
However I just lucked into an STiR-O
The idea I have is to marry the STiR O with the ALP via an RG module.
The current STiR plus system would then have the antenna relocated and face rearward
The Plus would keep the GPS and all of the Beltronics functions I have come to appreciate

Any thoughts on success/warnings/improvements appreciated.

It will work but there is no TSR on early StiR-O modules, Just use the same Sti-R Plus settings, You can also just use the 9500CI antenna which is easier to find and it uses the same platform.

Have AL thought about updating the manual that comes with the CPU and the website with information regarding STIR integration, BT and other accessories with pritty pictures for the average user ?

Possibly even a big flow diagram with all accessories and configuration detailed in a big picture

Unfortunately no... The system is legally sold in every country as a parking sensor system and the user manual reflects this.

I already have the STiR-O
The reason I am considering using it up front with the ALP is that it is my understanding (from reading here at the forum) that the "O" a better antenna than the STiR plus.
I assume that advantage will still be true when integrated with the ALP.
However I did not realize TSR woud not be available. I assumed it was a feature built into the CPU as opoosed to the antenna
What think you?

IN CLARIFICATION
The system would be
STiR-O integrated with ALP ( "0" antenna facing forward)
STiR plus- separate system, ( Antenna facing rearward) + GPS

The Antennas are full radar detectors.. There was no TSR option when the Sti-R Original came out which is why even connected to the ALP there will not be any TSR filters and they will false alot.

Is anybody that install both ALP integration and STiR plus with the same antenna?

You can't connect the antenna to both without damaging one or both of the devices.

I just installed my ALP system and attached the Escort 9500ci antenna. In the setup page on alpupdate.com, which detector do I configure: STiR or STiR-M

STiR-M is for the 'MultaRadar' editions sold in Europe where the MultaRadar CD / CT is used.

I'm assuming your from North America, and bought your 9500ci there (MultaRadar not used), so just select 'STiR' :)

- When putting the ALPs into Parking Mode Only( either via "force parking mode" or Setup mode) will the Stir plus also be turned off?

Yes I did read the first post.
And do understand that hooking up the StiR plus with the ALP via the RG module one loses any data base functions of the STir plus (speed cam warnings & etc)

Re-reading the 1st post it seems one of my questions may have been answered.
That is that that the Radar Alerts from the Stir plus will play thru the Alp Hi Fi set up & thru the Alp Connect Set up.
Have I understood this correctly?

The remaining question is
When utilizing the "Force Parking" command (or using a set up file for Parking Only) will the STiR plus antenna also be turned off?

If you already have a full plus I don't see any reason to integrate them. If new and you wanted to save money I could understand buying the add on kit. Radar alerts work in parking mode.

Here is why I am considering integrating an Stir plus with the ALPS
I am currently running an ALP x 5 (in Hi Fi & Alp Connec)t) along with 2 STir plus
One Stir plus facing forward & the other aft.
Only one of them has a GPS receiver attached (rear facing) and warns of speed cams & traps from the Beltronics date base as well as providing protection from behind
The other (forward facing) is simply a stealthy RD without GPS/data base features
I am considering connecting the forward StiR directly to the ALP via the RG module
Thus simplifying things by eliminating one set of the STiR control & display modules
The added bonus would be the ability to distinguish between front & rear systems by vocal pack gender & direction of sound

It must be said I feel very well & stealthily protected with this arrangement

Any comment or suggestions from you would be most welcome
